HARGEISA (SD) -The Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi, welcomed in his office today the newly appointed Head of the British Office in Somaliland, Lizzie Walker, and alongside other senior officials from the British Embassy in Somaliland.

Lizzie Walker replaces Stuart Brown, who has been a representative and Head of the British Embassy in Somaliland since 2019.

A press release from the meeting stated that the officials deliberated on the British and Somaliland’s affairs. President Bihi much-admired the debate that was pondered in the British Parliament on the issue of Somaliland’s recognition.

The president thanked the British government and the parliament for their efforts in sharing Somaliland’s consensus of its independence with the international community.

Lizzie Walker praised the progress and democracy that the people of Somaliland inhabit and demonstrate in their daily lives.

The President was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of Somaliland, Abdinasir Omar Jama.
