HARGEISA (SD) – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro), and the delegation he led on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, returned to the country today. The President and his delegation were welcomed at Hargeisa’s Egal International Airport by the Vice President of Somaliland, Mr. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, along with various officials and dignitaries. The delegation was then escorted to the Presidential Palace, where speeches were made highlighting the importance of the international conference for the Republic of Somaliland.
The welcoming ceremony was attended by various leaders, including members of the House of Elders (Guurti) and the House of Representatives, ministers, military commanders, religious leaders, traditional elders, women, and other distinguished guests. Speeches emphasized the significant success achieved by the President at the international conference.
The Minister of Interior and National Security, Mr. Abdalle Mohamed Arab, welcomed the President and his delegation, noting that the conference’s outcomes greatly advanced Somaliland’s efforts toward development and international recognition. The Chairman of the House of Elders, Mr. Saleban Mahmoud Aden, and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Said Mire Girre, also spoke, praising the President’s achievements and calling on the public to support the fruits of the conference and work with the President and his government.
The Vice President of Somaliland, Mr. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, highlighted that the President participated in one of the largest conferences Somaliland has ever attended at a national level. He noted that this success adds significant value to the country’s ongoing efforts to be recognized as part of the international community.
President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro) addressed the public, explaining the importance of the international conference and the benefits Somaliland gained from it. He stated, “We received official recognition as the Republic of Somaliland and its President from the UAE, a country we consider a friend. This conference was a major platform that began 12 years ago, attended by 30 countries, including us, and over 140 countries, 400 ministers, and 6,000 participants. It was a significant global gathering. We had the opportunity to represent Somaliland and engage with world leaders and participants.”
The President emphasized that he represented the people of Somaliland and conveyed their message to the world. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the public, stating, “We are your representatives and servants. We have delivered your message, and you will see its results.”
