Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland government has released from jail two artists who have been detained in Hargeisa for more than two months after returning from a trip to Mogadishu.
The MarodiJeh regional court has today ordered the release of Hamda Qali and Barwaqo Qalanjo, who were held despite the regional court previously acquitting them.
Its not the first time Somaliland authorities arrested artist who visited Mogadishu to perform.
Somalia and Somaliland, in recent conference in Djibouti have agreed not to politically impede on community interactions between societies.
The two artists who spoke to the media today in Hargeisa said they were happy to regain their freedom and thanked those who took part in their release.
