Hargeisa (SD) – The Somaliland Ministry of Education has announced the closure of schools for two months, as Covid-19 virus spreads across the country.

The number of cases in Somaliland is reportedly higher than in recent months.

The Minister of Education said that as of April 13th, all schools in Somaliland will be closed.

“Due to the Coved-19 situation, schools in Somaliland will be completely closed from April 13, 2021 to July 3, 2021” said the Somaliland Minister of Education Ahmed Toorno.

The move comes at a time when Somaliland is suffering from Covid-19 disease and widespread drought has affected education services.
