Hargeisa (SD) -The third conference of the Central Committee of the opposition party Wadani opened today at the Ambassador Hotel in Hargeisa, re-electing Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro) and Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi to be the party’s presidential and vice presidential candidates in the November 2022 presidential election.
The conference was addressed by the chairpersons of the Wadani Party from the country’s regions, the party’s spokesman Barkhad Jama Batun and the party’s secretary general Khadar Hussein Abdi.
The officials highlighted party’s recent steps and the party’s plans for the upcoming elections in the country. They also spoke about their support for their party’s candidates in the presidential election.
The chairman of Wadani party Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro who spoke at the conference gave an in-depth account of the party’s history, criticizing the government for failing to protect the unity of the Somaliland people.
Cirro also promised to increase the salaries of the country’s armed forces by 250%, if they win the next presidential election.
He also commended the Government, the parties and the Electoral Commission for agreeing for the first time to hold dual elections in the country, describing it as a major step forward, adding that future elections should not be delayed.
Chairman Cirro urged the people of Somaliland to take the health advice from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Somaliland and get the COVID 19 vaccine.
