LAS ANOD (SD) – The interim administration of SSC-Khatumo released a press statement addressing reports of a phone conversation between leader Abdulkadir Firdhiye and the newly elected President of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro).
SSC denied these talks, which had been widely spread on social media after it was announced that both sides had discussed their ongoing tensions.
The statement indicated that the SSC leader was sworn in to uphold the administration’s covenant and defend the people and territory of Khatumo, making political negotiations impossible.
Khaatumo completely dismissed the possibility of negotiations between the two sides, accusing Somaliland of committing crimes against the SSC people.
“The leader of SSC-Khatumo has been sworn to the Administration’s Covenant, which guarantees the defense of the honor of the people and the entire territory of SSC-Khatumo. There is no possibility for negotiations and bargaining over any part of the SSC-Khatumo territory,” the administration said.
