Telesom Donates over $840,000 to COVID-19 Efforts in Somaliland

Hargeisa (SD) – Telesom a telecommunications giant in Somaliland, has today donated over $840,000, to the country’s COVID-19 prevention Committee.

The donations, of which $640,000 is medical equipment and $ 200,000 in cash, meant for the countries poor families affected by Covid19.

The announcement was made at a joint press conference attended by the Vice President of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismail Saylici accompanied by the National Committee for the Prevention of Covid19, high ranking Telesom Officials and the Somaliland Presidency officials.

“Today I am handing over $ 200,000 in cash which could feed 4,000 families and equipment worth $ 640,000. Mr. Vice President, I would like you to except the donations from us”. said Abdinasir Adan Nur, a Telesom chief executive member.

Vice President of Somaliland Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismail Saylici praised Telesom for its role in the nation, and praised that the donation would contribute to Covid19 prevention efforts.
