Bocame (SD) – Reports from Bocame district in Sool region that there is tension between Somaliland and Puntland administrations, each of which claims to control the area.

Tensions rose after delegation led by the Governor of Sool Region of Somaliland Abdikarin Aden Haji Diriye and a large number of troops led by the governor arrived in Bocame district.

There is also a delegation led by the Minister of Aviation and Airports of Puntland Ilyas Osman Lugatoor in Bocame district, and this delegation is also accompanied by Puntland troops.

The government of Somaliland and the regional government of Puntland are in dispute over the control the two regions of Sool and Sanaag, and each claim that these regions are part of their territory.

Somaliland and Puntland have fought numerous times in areas and districts of Sool and Sanaag regions.
