SOOL (SD) -Reports coming from Sool region, particularly in the district of Oog, indicate a looming conflict in that region.

Tensions are reportedly escalating between the Somaliland forces and those of SSC Khaatumo militia group over territorial control in the Sool region.

Somaliland’s forces have deployed troops and military vehicles in the Sool region, while the SSC Khaatumo faction has also brought their forces to the region.

The residents of the area are deeply concerned about repeated conflict between Somaliland forces and SSC Khaatumo in the region.

Somaliland has recently intensified its claim to the region after the Federal Government of Somalia announced its support for SSC Khatumo, a move that Somaliland opposed, fearing a potential shift in the territorial boundaries of the Sool region.
