WASHINGTON (SD) – The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking private companies or organizations to assist in implementing and managing Somalia’s Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS).
According to the biometricupdate.com the FBI is looking for vendors that can provide various technical services, including logistics and training, to support the deployment and maintenance of Somalia’s biometric identification system.
The ABIS initiative is part of efforts to strengthen Somalia’s capacity in criminal justice and counterterrorism through advanced biometric technology.
The FBI aims to enhance Somalia’s law enforcement capabilities, ensuring regional stability and security by strengthening biometric identification.
This initiative also reflects the Federal Government of Somalia’s adoption of advanced technology to address global security challenges.
The FBI stated that the system will play a crucial role in enabling the Somali Police Force (SPF) to efficiently identify individuals linked to criminal or terrorist activities.
