KISMAYO (SD) – The Jubaland election committee, recently appointed by President Ahmed Madobe, officially handed over the files of the new members of the Jubaland House of Representatives today. These members will represent the clans residing in Jubaland in the Third House of Representatives.
The traditional elders of the Jubaland clans officially handed over the files of the new members to the Jubaland Independent Boundaries and Elections Commission. The handover ceremony was specifically held in Kismayo, attended by various clan elders.
Dr. Mursal Siyaad Mohamed, Chairman of the Jubaland Independent Boundaries and Elections Commission, officially received the files of the new members of the House of Representatives. During the meeting, the traditional elders handed over the files of their respective representatives one by one, reflecting the clan each member will represent in the new House of Representatives.
The traditional elders, who submitted the files today, told the media that they have fully fulfilled their primary role in forming the Jubaland House of Representatives and are ready to participate in completing the election.
The election for the Jubaland House of Representatives is expected to take place soon, with final preparations underway. The Jubaland election committee is engaged in planning and implementing the election to ensure it is conducted peacefully and fairly. This move exacerbates the ongoing conflict between Mogadishu and Kismayo.
