The Oslo Center meets with election stakeholders in Hargeisa

Hargeisa (SD) -A delegation from The Oslo Center led by the former Norwegian PM who are currently in Somaliland met with the three national parties and the country’s Electoral Commission.

The Oslo Center for Peace, Democracy and Human Rights met with the Kulmiye party and the Somaliland Electoral Commission, there were no information on these meetings.

The Wadani party this morning received the delegation and officials from the Oslo Center for Peace at the party headquarters, Democracy and Human Rights who arrived in Somaliland for the first time.

They discussed the overall process of democratization in Somaliland, the security situation and the state of human rights in Somaliland. They also discussed possible cooperation between the Oslo Center and the WADDANI Party in the areas of Political Strengthening, Decentralization, according to a released statement.

UCID Chairman Eng. Faysal Ali Warabe along with other party leaders today also received the delegations from Oslo Center for Peace, Democracy and Human Rights who visiting Somaliland.

Former Norwegian Prime Minister and current chairman of the Center Kjell Magnet Bondevik, established the center in 2006 and helps countries strengthen democracy and multi-party system.
