MOGADISHU (SD) – The Somali Minister of Defense, Abdikadir Mohamed Nur, stated that the Jubaland administration will be held accountable for any clashes between the Somali National Army and Jubaland forces in Lower Juba.
Minister Abdikadir mentioned that the Somali government has strengthened the fight against Al-Shabab by deploying an additional thousand soldiers to the Raskamboni area. He emphasized that the government forces are not attacking Jubaland but are focused on eliminating Al-Shabab.
The Minister expressed regret that the Jubaland administration is politicizing the national army, falsely portraying them as a force aimed at dismantling Jubbaland’s existence.
“The forces deployed to Raskamboni are Danab forces, and they are performing their constitutional duties. Anyone who confronts them with gunfire will be held responsible,” added Minister Abdikadir Mohamed Nur.
The Minister emphasized that these forces have achieved significant victories in the battles of Buulo Haji, which have dealt substantial damage to Al-Shabab.
