Garowe March 25, 2023 (SD) – A delegation of traditional clan elders, from Mogadishu, will travel to the capital of Puntland, Garowe on Saturday according to sources.

The elders aim to hold peace talks with representatives of the SSC regions (Sool, Sanaag, and Cayn) to find a solution to the ongoing conflict in the town of Las Anod.

The Elders who are from different parts of Somalia aim to hold discussions in Garoowe with their counterpart from SSC regions and to work towards achieving peace and ending the conflict in the city of Las Anod.

It has also been reported that the Elders from Mogadishu will travel to Hargeisa to meet with Somaliland authorities and discuss ways to end the conflict.

Previously, the Elders of Sool, Sanaag, and Cayn had declared that they will not engage in talks with Somaliland until its forces withdraw from the Sool region.
