ANTALYA (SD) -The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, met with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the city of Antalya.

The meeting, held during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, discussed strengthening the relationship between Turkey and Somalia, efforts regarding counterterrorism, as well as regional and international issues.

During the meeting, President Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey’s unwavering support for Somalia, emphasizing a commitment to enhancing defense cooperation.

President Erdogan expressed Turkey’s readiness to participate in mediation efforts aimed at resolving the dispute between Somalia and Ethiopia.

The meeting comes days after Somalia and Turkey signed a defense cooperation agreement, with Somalia expressing its desire for Turkey to support maritime security efforts in Somali waters.
