MOGADISHU (SD)-A Turkish government ship carrying extensive humanitarian aid has docked at Mogadishu port, part of Turkey’s ongoing efforts to support the Somali people. The ship carried food, medicine, and other essential supplies to address emergency and humanitarian needs in the country.
A brief ceremony to receive the aid took place at the port, attended by senior Somali government officials. Deputy Prime Minister Saalax Axmed Jaamac and the National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) Chairman Maxamuud Macallin Cabdulle officially received the aid, expressing gratitude to the Turkish government for its continuous support to Somalia.
Turkey has frequently sent humanitarian aid to Somalia, especially during droughts and during other critical situations. Turkey is one of the major political supporters of Somalia, and relations between the two countries have strengthened in recent years. This latest aid shipment symbolizes Turkey’s ongoing commitment to assisting the Somali people in alleviating their humanitarian needs and challenges.
