HARGEISA (SD) -The outgoing President of the self-declared republic of Somaliland Muse Bihi Abdi, received the British ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Mike Nithavrianakis, at the presidential palace, who was on a working visit to Hargeisa.

During the meeting, they discussed several topics, including the acceleration of various projects jointly undertaken by the British government and Somaliland, and the preparation for the long-delayed upcoming elections, which the government has long resisted in holding them.

The outgoing Muse Bihi Abdi thanked the British Ambassador for the importance the British government places on the projects both sides are handling. The Ambassador, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the President for the implementation of democracy and the progress of state governance.

The President was accompanied at the meeting by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ms. Roda Jama Elmi.
