London (SD) – Somali Somali Community leaders and Organizations in the UK have expressed their condolences over the recent murder of UK lawmaker David Amess.

“We’re shocked & saddened by the senseless violence perpetrated upon an innocent MP Sir David Amess, stabbed to death at his constituency surgery in Essex. We express our deepest sympathy.” The community said in a released statement.

The Somali community is nervous about the UK media’s coverage, linking Somalis to the killing and the possible fallout due to the accused being a Somali.
