HARGEISA (SD)-The President of the Somaliland administration, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi, received the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Somalia, Ambassador James Swan, at the presidential palace in Hargeisa today.
During the meeting, they focused on the overall situation in the region, the upcoming elections in Somaliland, and the cooperation between the Somaliland administration and the United Nations.
Ambassador James Swan praised President Muse Bihi Abdi for the planning of the upcoming combined elections. He noted that the United Nations would closely monitor the presidential election scheduled for November in Somaliland.
Accompanying the President at the meeting were the Minister of Interior, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, the Minister of Planning and National Development, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Dirie (Torno), and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Roda Jama Elmi. On Ambassador Swan’s side were officials from his office, including Obinna Okamgba, Nikolai, Dana Palade, Ahmed Qalinle, Dahir Mohamed Dahir, and Mustafa Khaire.
