GAROWE (SD) -News coming from the city of Garowe, the capital of Puntland administration, reports that men dressed in police uniforms have sexually assaulted an internally displaced 13-year-old girl.

As reported by local media in Puntland and eyewitnesses, the incident took place early in the morning in a displaced persons camp called Jiingadaha.

Following the incident, the men reportedly fled the scene while the girl was rescued from the house where she was held.

Her family and residents of the Jiingadaha neighborhood, determined to pursue justice for the girl, have expressed their outrage over the incident.

Authorities in Puntland have not yet commented on the incident.

The city of Garowe has experienced a decline in its security situation in recent times, leading to an increase in criminal activities, including those targeting vulnerable individuals, which has raised concerns among the city’s residents.
