Mogadishu (SD) – The US Embassy in Somalia posted on its Twitter account about US Ambassador Donald Yamamoto’s meetings with the Presidents of Jubaland and Puntland yesterday, and another meeting today with former Somali President Hassan Sheikh.

The Tweet from the US embassy in Mogadishu said Ambassador Yamamoto engaged with Ahmed Madobe and Said Deni on how to finalize the Dhusamareb 3 agreement.

The embassy also said that Ambassador Yamamoto had a productive meeting with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud today, as the sides also discussed the Dhusamareb 3 agreement.

The US ambassador reportedly worked hard to get Ahmed Madobe and Said Deni to come to Mogadishu, as to reach consensus on disputed elections in Somalia, since Puntland and Jubaland boycotted the Dhusamareb 3 agreement.
