Mogadishu (SD) – The US Embassy in Mogadishu has tweeted about the meeting between the federal government of Somalia and the leaders of Puntland and Jubaland regional states.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the embassy thanked Villa Somalia and Galmudug state president Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qoorqoor) for hosting Dhusamareb 3 process.

The embassy’s tweet comes at a time were the federal president and Jubaland and Puntland’s are finally meeting in Mogadishu to discuss the contentious 2020/2021 elections in the country.

The US embassy in Somalia did not comment on its reported role in bringing the sides together in Mogadishu for the discussions.
