NAIROBI (SD) -The U.S. Embassy in Nairobi has issued a warning about potential terrorist attacks targeting various parts of the city of Mogadishu.

The U.S. Embassy has stated that they have received credible intelligence indicating that terrorist attacks could occur in Mogadishu, particularly in key areas such as the Aden Adde Airport, and other locations frequented by Westerners and the local population.

All movements of U.S. Embassy personnel have been canceled for Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

Additionally, American officials have been advised to refrain from traveling to Somalia.

The U.S. Embassy has warned that attacks could involve the use of car bombs, shootings, explosions, and kidnappings.

On the other hand, the Federal Government of Somalia has not mentioned any specific security threat to the country.
