US Navy SEALs missing off the Coast of Somalia

MOGADISHU (SD) -Two U.S. Navy SEALs are missing off the coast of Somalia after having fallen into the water during a nighttime boarding mission on Thursday, according to two U.S. officials.

A statement issued by the Central Command of the United States forces announced that two soldiers of the Navy have gone missing, and the command said that operations to search and rescue those soldiers are underway.

The Central Command of the United States military did not give many details about the names of the missing soldiers and the ship they were on, nor did they explain the reason why the soldiers disappeared.

In recent weeks, the United States government has deployed warships in parts of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, after increasing attacks by the Houthi group on commercial ships in the Red Sea.
