Mogadishu (SD) – The US embassy in Somalia has called on Villa Somalia to convene a meeting between Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and regional government officials.
The US embassy posted a Tweet Wednesday saying that there is a urgent need for collaboration with federal and state governments to resolve the conflict there.
The US embassy statement shows growing pressure on Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, who refuses to speak with regional administrations on election issues, as he wants to extend his term.
It was just a few days ago when a meeting between Villa Somalia and regional governments failed, as the president rejected meeting request from regional governments before the 15th.
