HARGEISA (SD) The Somaliland Election Commission announced that the counting of votes from all regions of Somaliland has been completed.

The votes cast by the public in the concurrent presidential and political party elections have progressed beyond the local and district levels and are now moving to the national levels, which are in the final stages.

Musa Hassan Yusuf, the chairman of the Somaliland Election Commission, stated that the remaining phases of vote counting will not take much longer. He added that they are still within the legal timeframe for announcing the results of the elections held on November 13th.

He urged the public to await the commission’s announcement, which will come after the funeral of the former President of Somaliland, Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud (Siilaanyo), expected to take place today in Hargeisa.
